Geography
London is the capital city of the United Kingdom and lies, more specifically, in the southeast corner of England. It is a city that is centered around the Thames River which connects it to both the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. Because of the Thames, London is also in a bit of a river valley, with the city extending up and out on both sides and eventually transitioning into rolling hills on the outskirts of town and into the countryside. The weather is typically temperate to cool with prevailing winds from the southwest bringing in overcast skies and rain for much of the year.
