IOC and NOC Promotion of Olympism
The International Olympic Committee and National Olympic Committees are the driving force behind the Olympism movement. Through various outreach programs and constant advertising campaigns, the two sets of committees hope to continue to spread the Olympic message and the Olympic ideals.
One of the main ways that they get this message out in the public eye is through the advertisements of the various Olympic sponsors. This includes Visa's "Go World" campaign, Coca Cola's "Young Stars" campaign, and P&G's "Thanks Mom" campaign. All of these campaigns are designed to promote the teamwork, hard work, cooperation, determination, and commitment that make up the Olympism movement, and put them on the Global Stage.
In addition to the advertising campaigns, the IOC and NOCs create outreach programs that bring former Olympians and less fortunate people (generally children) together in order to inspire those people to go on to bigger and better things. These programs take place at Olympic Reunion Centers and give both the Olympians and the kids the opportunity to interact with each other and spread the Olympic message to the next generation as well.
