2012 Olympic Cycling
The Track Cycling competition looks to pit traditional rivals Great Britain and France against each other again this year. Both countries have historically had a great amount of success in this event, from world championships to world records, and will attempt to repeat history at this year's games. The Germans have also looked strong so far this season, posting World Leading times and many other strong performances in their build up to the Games.
The Road Race and Time Trial will be the most anticipated cycling event of the Games as every European power has multiple representatives whom they hope will bring home a medal or at least turn in a strong performance. The Americans also look to make their presence known with Chris Horner and Taylor Phinney, part time leader of the prestigious Giro d'Italia, hoping to claim medals and top ten finishes.
The BMX and Mountain bike competitions offer a much better chance for Americans to medal as the United States has, traditionall, been a dominant force in both events. In particular Todd Wells (Men's Mountain bike) and Alise Post (Women's BMX Bike) hope to reclaim their top spots on the world stage.
