To get ready for the Olympic Games I had to do a lot of planning and organizing in order to get everything ready for London. It started with getting my passport renewed and starting to search for tickets to Olympic Events and other stuff that was going on in London while I would be there. I wound up picking up tickets to Women's Soccer on July 31st (the day after my 21st Birthday!) and also organized a trip to visit friends of mine in Dublin from August 1st through the 3rd. I also had to get my International Student ID Card. This proved to be a little more hectic than I planned but it all worked out and the card arrived a week before I was to set out for London.
The other thing that I had to do, this summer, to get ready for the games was work as many hours as I possibly could. I work at a local department store (Elder Beerman) and so I put in almost 40 hours a week (which was my limit) in order to have enough money to have some fun in London at the end of my summer. I'm done with that now that and have the rest of the summer free to enjoy the Olympics, finish training hard for Cross Country, and finally get to relax and recharge for school!
